A 15-character password composed only of random letters and numbers is about 33,000 times stronger than an 8-character password composed of characters from the entire keyboard. Requiring more complex passwords that must be changed more frequently increases the likelihood that users will forget them. Use the entire keyboard, not just the most common characters. It is valuable to use some letter swapping or misspellings as well. A third method might be to install a parallel operating system on a different partition on the same computer, then use a simple trick to gain access to the system is by trying hard to remember the forgotten password, or a password of another user which has the same level of administrative rights. If you cannot create a password that contains symbols, you need to make it considerably.
